Music Teachers Sought

TPSF is searching for music teachers to create a new pilot program to provide after-school band and orchestra for Tustin Unified 4th and 5th grade students.  This program is a collaboration with the Tustin Unified School District and the City of Tustin.

Initial plans include weekly classes at 4 locations for a 12-week session.  Students will choose one location to attend.  Teachers will provide services at one (or more) location.  See the draft schedule for more information. 

Details:

§        Develop a pilot after-school program to teach beginning band and orchestra to fourth and fifth grade students.

§        Program design should align with National Standards for Arts Education, for students in grades four and five.

§        Implement program, providing instruction once a week for a 12 week session. 

Qualifications:

§        Effective oral and written communications skills

§        Knowledge of current educational trends, practices, and resources

§        Previous experience teaching instrumental music

§        Ability to motivate students in music

§        Resourcefulness, creativity and initiative

§        Strong organizational planning skills

§        High expectations for all students

Compensation:

§        $1500 stipend per twelve week session.
